This summer, ZGiRLS made a significant stride by hosting two concurrent online programs for the first time. These programs, held on Tuesday mornings and Wednesday afternoons, allowed us to reach a wider audience and offer more flexible options for participation. We collect weekly feedback and asked the girls:

“What did you learn about yourself this week?”

WEEK 1:

DEVELOP A GROWTH MINDSET

  • I learned more about confidence especially in my self and i hope to use these thoughts and growth skills in real life situations on daily!

  • I’m a human and I can make mistakes. I can replace my fixed mindset with a growth mindset.

  • I can accomplish many things if I believe in myself.

  • That I have the power to change how i feel and act with simple positive words.

  • I am a yet queen ⭐️ and I should always try to have a growth mindset.

  • Insecurities might always be around but you never have to listen to them.

WEEK 2:

BUILD YOUR SELF-WORTH

  • I can make myself more strong, empowered, and confident!

  • I am beautiful. I am brave. I am enough.

  • The most important thing I learned about myself is that I can use my words to uplift me.

  • I am enough and labels do NOT define me.

  • That I am me and nobody can change that

  • Comparing yourself is normal. You are unique in your own ways.

  • Don’t change yourself for anyone else or their opinion.

  • To be PROUD of myself.

WEEK 3:

TAKE ON CHALLENGES & LEARN FROM FAILURE:

  • Sometimes when I fail I get in a fixed mindset and I learned I can be empowered by it.

  • I don’t have to always be perfect.

  • I should learn from my mistakes. FAILURE ISN’T FINAL!!!

  • That I can fail because that is how I grow and I need to be less hard on myself.

  • To be BRAVE!

  • I can pick myself up after being brought down.

  • Failure doesn’t define you!

  • That even when i DO FAIL its good. i can learn from it, embrace it, fail UP.

WEEK 4:

ADVOCATE FOR YOURSELF:

  • Communication is key in advocating for myself.

  • I can talk about my feelings and shouldn’t feel like I can't.

  • The most important thing I learned today was advocating for yourself and not being afraid to share my emotions.

  • I learned that I will not be a burden for expressing my opinion.

  • I can stick up and advocate for myself!

  • I learned how to communicate my feelings better.

  • It’s important to express your feelings so other people understand you more.

If you could give another girl advice on how to step into her confidence, what you would you tell her?

After the program, we ask every ZGiRLS to give advice to a future ZGiRL.

  • ALWAYS believe in yourself. - Age 11

  • Know your worth. Look into how hard you work and what you can do better. Prioritize making YOURSELF proud. - Age 12

  • Don’t give up I know you want to but keep trying it’ll be worth it. - Age 14

  • I would tell her that she can do anything she puts her mind to and that she will always have support and its okay to feel how she feels. - Age 11

  • That other peoples opinions don't matter as much as your opinion on yourself so you don't need to change anything about yourself to fit in. - Age 13

  • She should be comfortable in her own skin because she doesn't need to be like everyone else. - Age 12

  • Believe in yourself. Remember there are people who support you. Be confident in yourself because no one should take it away from you. - Age 14

YOU MAKE THIS WORK POSSIBLE.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT!
